BELOW: A MESSAGE FROM THE ORGANISERS, OUR HOSTS FROM BAI RUI:

Dear GrandMasters, Masters & Instructors,

We would like to cordially invite you to the Bai Rui National Championships, to be held at Nissan Arena, Brisbane on 4th & 5th October, 2025.

Please feel free to distribute this invitation throughout your respective organisations and members.  We hope to make this our largest & most comprehensive post-Covid Bai Rui tournament so far! With 300 attending last year, it was a great event, and hope to make this one even better.

The rule set with regards to scoring and infractions will be based on the ITF rules (link below), with some variations regarding divisions as necessary depending on total numbers of competitors in each division. Divisions may also be merged, depending on numbers.

Please be aware that our children's (12 years & under) divisions will be allocated by height (up to 135 cm) for sparring and special techniques, and by age and rank for patterns.  Above 135 cm, are allocated by weight for sparring divisions. For all of our childrens divisions, there will be a no contact rule for the head. Scoring opportunities still exist for the head, with a close technique (< 5cm distance) to the high section, which is unblocked by the opponent, being scored as it would be for contact in the adult divisions. However, please also be aware that head contact in our childrens divisions will result in warnings for the attacking competitor.  Enjoyment, not tears is the goal for our kids!

Also, please note that there is no requirement for 2 sets of sparring equipment in red & blue as outlined in the official rules. We will designate red & blue competitors with ribbon/tape.  As long as the sparring gear meets the physical requirements (ie open hand gloves; fully covered boots, etc.)

Please keep an eye out for the registration link coming soon!
